Education in Itanagar

Itanagar is a beautiful city, situated at the foothills of Himalaya and has a population of 34,970 ( as per 2001 census ). It is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh and is well connected with rest of the country by both roadways and airways.

Itanagar has always been known for its beautiful tourist spots and scenic beauty. The historical fort, named as the Ita fort is the one of the main tourist spots, which attract thousands of visitors every year.  Another important tourist spots in Itanagar are legendary Ganga Lake or Gyakar Sinyi, the Buddhist temple known as Buddha Vihar, etc.

Itanagar always witness a moderate climate with summer days temperature ranging from 40 °C- 18 °C and winters 12 °C - 5 °C.

Some important festivals celebrated with great enthusiasm in Itanagar Reh Festival, Losar Festival, Tamladu Festival, Saga Dawa Festival, Mopin Festival, Brahmaputra Darshan Festival, etc.

Educational Scenario of Itanagar

With two famous universities namely North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology and Rajiv Gandhi University, and many other famous schools and colleges, Itanagar is not behind in rendering excellent quality education to its student.

It can boast of some of the best schools like Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Delhi Public School, Little Rose School, Little Flower School, and also it has many famous world-class residential schools like St. Thomas – Residential School, Kids Kingdom Residential School, Blue Pine Residential English School, Dolo Mando Residential English School, etc.

Among the city's many other institutions of higher learning are the Dera Natung Government College, Don Bosco College, North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Science and Technology, North East Homoeopathic Medical College And Hospital, Arunachal Pradesh Polytechnic, Arunachal Pradesh Polytechnic, North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology.
